SAVANNAH
A1 Savannahs – Kathrin Stucki The first Savannah was created by Judee Franck, breeder, in the 80′s. The Savannah comes from the crossbreeding between the African Serval and the domesticated cat. The race was officially recognized in 2002 by TICA but only starting at the third generation. Our Savannahs offer an exceptional quality when it comes to the type and character.
Our Savannah males comes from A1 Savannahs (Oklahoma, USA), previously known as New Horizon Bengals, and founded by Joyce Sroufe; recognized as a pioneer in making the Savannah race a reality.
The Savannah is the exotic cat of this century; it is very affectionate while remaining lively and extremely intelligent cat. It dazzles us with its beauty, fulfills us with its elegance and reminds us of the respect we owe to the Serval. The Savannah is a luxury cat, filled with impunity… it’s perfect for all feline lovers looking for something different, gracious and EXOTIC.
THE CAT BY EXCELLENCE!
Very few breeders in the world can crossbreed a Serval and a domesticated cat. This is why first generation Savannahs are so expensive.
For the 2010 year, we will produce F3C, F5C and SBT kittens, which are well adapted to families with children and other pets. The kittens will be domesticated, all the while keeping their Serval attributes. We guarantee the maximum Serval blood for each of our kittens, according to their respective generation.
COSTS
Cost for each kitten according to their respective generation and their inherent quality:
- F1 (∼53% Serval) = $7,000 to $22,000 CAD (as a reference point)
- F2 (∼29% Serval) = $5,000 to $16,000 CAD
- F3 (∼16% Serval) = $3,000 to $6,000 CAD
- F4 = $2,000 to $4,000 CAD
- F5 = $1,200 to $6,000 CAD
- SBT = $1,200 to $6,000 CAD
In no case do we ever crossbreed with any other race than the Savannah. We truly believe in pursuing the legacy offered by pioneers of this race; to let you discover and possess this magnificent race which is the Savannah.
KITTENS
Our Savannah kittens will leave their mother, brothers and sisters as well as their first home between 12 and 14 weeks, depending on their individual development. They will be vermifugated, vaccinated and neutered/spayed.
We wish for the kittens to be independent from their mother and to have them develop a good self-confidence as well as an understanding for the world around them (other cat races, dogs, women, men and children). A good level of social awareness is particularly important for young Savannahs.
Savannahs, by the nature of their fur, are hypoallergenic for many people even suffering severe allergies to cats. Call us to have more details on this topic.
